Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by. I want to share a birthday card I made. I used an accordion fold on the front that I learned how to make recently from Splitcoast Stampers. Here is the link to the tutorial.

I have been wanting to practice more with the shabby chic look since I love this look so much! I hope to be doing this more in the future.

Once agian, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

You Are My Sunshine

Hi and welcome to my blog. Last week we had some beautiful sunny days. I am wishing they are still here since it has turned cold and rainy again! I made this card as a reminder of those sunny days!

I used my cuttlebug rays embossing folder for the background. I sponged on Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Ripe Persimmon Distress inks. I also added Sparkle N Sprinkle Lemonade glitter to some of the dotted areas in the rays. You can see the sparkle better here.

I used the Cheery Lynn Lattice Valance Border die and cut off the ends of the die to make the swirls. I also pop dotted some of the grapes at the bottom of the mouse.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Split Panel Card

Hi Everyone! I want to show you a card I made using several techniques. This is a split panel card where I stamped Hero Arts A Real Wild Poppy stamp on one panel repeated times. I used a dot Stampin' Up stamp around the flowers. I used Versa Mark ink to stamp, added clear embossing powder and heat set it. I then sponged on Broken China, Bundled Sage and Tea Dye Distress inks. The embossing powder acted as a resist. I then cut the panel into three parts, made them different heights to add interest and added a brown border of card stock to each panel. I also dyed some seam binding to match the card. The butterflies were cut from patterned paper using Tim Holtz's Butterfly Frenzy die.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great day! God bless!

Altered Dies #4

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a Happy Valentine's Day. Welcome back to Altered Dies #4. It is fun seeing how to use dies differently. I enjoyed making sheep from the Puffy Clouds Memory Box dies.

I started with these clouds and chose the 2 smallest to make my sheep.

I added white Liquid Applique to the sheep to make them fluffy. A marker was used to make their faces and feet.

I used the Impression Obsession Poppies die to make my tree. I also added white Liquid Applique for the blossoms.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Painted Flower

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am so happy you stopped by! Today I want to show you a card I made using Hero Arts Painted Flower stamp. I have not had this stamp very long and I just love the look of this flower. I am already looking forward to Spring, so this card is putting me in the mood!

I stamped the flower on patterned paper, used a border punch on the edge and adhered it to green card stock. I embossed the button border on the edge of the green card stock and added some green ink to the raised areas so that the embossing would show up better.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Love

Hi Everyone! Welcome to my blog. I want to show you a tag I made with these sweet chickadees by Sparkle N Sprinkle.

I made the background using the splatter stencil from Tim Holtz and doing the mono printing technique here. I used Tumbled Glass and Weathered Wood stains. You can see the white splatters in the middle of the tag.

Next I used white matte embossing paste and Tim Holtz's snowflakes stencil. I added Stickles Diamond glitter glue on the snowflakes to make them sparkle.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Altered Dies #3

Hi Everyone! Can you believe that Valentine's Day is right around the corner? I want to show you a Valentine I made with altered dies. I will be showing you how I made these sweet love birds using heart dies and a round punch!

I started with these 2 Nellie Snellen heart dies and used patterned and plain pink card stocks to cut them from.

I cute the hearts in half to make the body and wings of the birds.

I layered them like this and added a punched circle from patterned card stock for the heads. I also cut 2 scallops off one of the hearts for the beaks.

Next I used a my new Wreath die by Spellbinders and cut it apart to make branches.

I stamped the word "love" on a Spellbinders Fancy Labels die and pop dotted it to the card and added a heart charm.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how you can use your dies in different ways to make something totally new. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!
