Happy April Fool's Day!

Hi Everyone! I hope you don't get too fooled today. A lot is going on today. First it is my birthday! Can you believe it? That is no April Fool joke. That is why my name is April. Also over at Just For Fun Stamps we are showcasing our Spring stamps and we also have a brand new Easter/Spring challenge on the blog! Here is the card I made using the Floral Tea Cup stamp. I just love this stamp and it can be colored in so many different ways. I chose to use bright colors that pop.

I stamped and colored the image using Zig watercolor pens. I cut out the image using the Spellbinders Picot Edge Circle die. This was adhered to the blue dotted swiss background that I created by running it through an embossing folder. I added a yellow silk bow and paper flower to the bottom.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will join in our challenge and you might even win a gift certificate to the store.

Have a wonderful day!

Butterfly Garden

Hello and welcome to my blog. I want to show you a pull up card I made using the Altenew Butterfly stamp set. I love cards that have different folds and movement! I hope you enjoy seeing this fun card today. I am entering this card into the Altenew inspiration challenge. Here is the picture inspiration. Aren't these pretty colors?

Here is the front of my card when it is closed. I made the yellow frame for the butterfly by using a Martha Stewart punch.

When you pull up the card from the top you see the message inside and the 2 butterflies at the top. Here is the view of the card looking down on it.

This is a side view of the card. The instructions on how to make this card are here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

High Wheeler

Hi! Welcome to my blog! I just love this new bicycle stamp called High Wheeler Bicycle Motif from Just For Fun. I really like the vintage look of this stamp. I colored the rose using colored pencils and Spectrum Noir markers. I used my "postage stamp" decorative scissors to cut it out. I layered the image on patterned paper and then blue card stock. This was pop dotted to the card. The leaves die is called Fresh Foliage from Memory Box. The background was designed using various coordinating patterned papers. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the borders.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Take a look at all of the new stamps from Just For Fun. I know you will enjoy all the fun ones you see. Also you have a few more days to join in on the challenge for this month. You might even win a gift certificate to the JFF store!

New Fold

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am always looking for new folds and techniques for my cards. This fold has been around for awhile, but this is the first time I have tried it. It looks hard but it is very easy to do. This is called a tepee card and here is the link to the instructions

http://thecraftypad.blogspot.com/2011/07/tutorial-how-to-make-teepee-card.html

I stamped the Inkadinkado bird using Distress Picked Raspberry ink, fussy cut it and added it to the Spellbinders Beaded circle die. The leaves is the Memory Box Fresh Foliage die that I cut from patterned paper.

Here is a side view.

This was fun to make and I hope you will give it a try.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!

Bits and Bobs #6

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am showing another bits and bobs card today. I am hoping to whittle down my stash of supplies but I think it might take a lifetime! LOL!  I hope I make a small dent anyway.

I came across a jar of Paper Perfect. I don't ever remember buying it OR using it, but I must have since about a third of is gone!  I spread the paste on a piece of plastic and let it dry over night. To make a bumpier texture I patted it with my palette knife.

After it dried I just peeled it off the plastic. The top looks like handmade paper and the bottom looks smooth and plastic like.

Next I decided to cut flowers and leaves from this "paper."  It did no cut through using my dies, so I had to finish cutting them out with my scissors. I then colored them using Spectrum Noir markers. I found that alcohol markers work better than anything else.

I found the lady image in my stash and I colored her using colored pencils and Gamsol. The patterned paper was a scrap and I found the ribbon in a batch I had dyed awhile back. I used a border punch at the bottom of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Happy Birthday To You

Hi! Welcome to my blog. The challenge this month at Just For Fun is Happy Birthday. I want to show you a birthday card I made using these fun new bicycle stamps and washi tape. These bicycles remind of the time when my young boys and I went to a plantation in Charleston, SC and rented a bicycle for two to ride through the trails. And, that reminds me of the song, "A Bicycle Built For Two!"

I stamped the Old Time Bicycle Motif stamp and the High Wheeler Bicycle Motif stamp with Versa Mark ink, added black embossing powder and heat set it. I colored the roses using Spectrum Noir markers. I cut out the images and adhered them to a green square and then to a black square. They were pop dotted to the card.

For the card background I used various washi tapes on the corners and stamped the birthday saying from the Sentiments 1 unmounted sheet.

I would love for you to join the Just for Fun Birthday challenge. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Bits and Bobs #5

Hi and welcome back to my bits and bobs series. Rummaging through my drawers I came across some Honey Pop. I have had this for many years and in many different colors and I don't think I have ever used it! It is fun stuff and is great for using inside a card for a fun surprise. I will get to that in a bit.

On the front of this card I used a background I found in my stash where I used a stencil, patted Distress inks on the stencil, spritzed with water and pressed card stock on it with my hand. I thought it would be a fun background for a birthday card.

I found these candles in my image file that are from Close To My Heart. I colored them with a colored pencil and Gamsol, fussy cut them and adhered them to the background. I punched the flames out with a circle punch and added Stickles glitter. I had the candles all lined up in a row to see where to place my saying when they moved wonky, but you know, I liked that better! So sometimes a mistake can be better!

Here is the Honey Pop I was talking about earlier. I made a balloon with it so that it pops out when you open the card. You have seen this in party decorations I am sure. Anyway, it comes flat and you stamp your stamp on it and fussy cut as normal. Place a glue dot on both sides of the image and adhere it inside the card. When it opens the image puffs out. I really need to use this more often!

I also had this bird image already colored in my image pile, so I fussy cut him and added him to the inside.

I hope you enjoyed my bits and bobs card today. I hope this inspires you to dig through your stash and find some fun things to play with again!

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!
