Summer Wedding

Hi and welcome to my blog. I am showing a wedding card I made using Just For Fun stamps! The challenge at Just For Fun this month is Wedding Time. Come join us in the challenge and you might even win a gift certificate to the store. Also check out all the wedding cards from the Design Team for more inspiration.

I used this beautiful Stamp Tangle Teardrop Heart as my focal point. There are so many fun ways to use these stamp tangle stamps. I stamped this one using Versa Mark ink onto white card stock, applied white embossing powder, colored it with different shades of blue watercolors, fussy cut it and adhered it over the rose. The blue background card stock was run through a heart dotted swiss embossing folder. I also used white embossing powder on the Rose stamp, colored it with watercolors and fussy cut it. Ribbon and sequins were used as embellishments.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful and blessed day.

Take Flight

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. It has been a pleasure being a guest designer for House Mouse and Friends. I want to show you a card that I made using this fun House Mouse stamp ( Cling Butterfly Ride ) that I just recently won. This little mouse is having a blast! The new challenge at House Mouse and Friends is Yellow and/or Orange. Come and join in the fun!

I adhered yellow and orange patterned paper to a white card base. I used one of Tim Holtz's Alterations dies to cut out the bottom area of white card stock so that the patterned paper can show through. The image was stamped on the top white card stock and colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I paper pieced the butterfly and pop dotted it to the image. Clear sparkle embossing powder was added to the butterfly.  You can see it better in the picture below.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Every Day is a Gift

Hello and welcome to my blog! I hope you are having a good day. Well, it is certainly beach weather, so I have a beach card to show you where I used the new Oxide Distress inks for the background.

I swiped yellow, green and blue colors directly on the card using the Oxide ink pads. I then spritzed the top of the card with water and let the water run down the card to blend the colors. I stamped the new Just For Fun stamp called Relaxing in the Sand on top and colored using my Zig markers. The saying is from the Sentiments 3 unmounted stamp sheet. I paper pieced the sun and added clear sparkle embossing powder to it for shimmer. You can see the sparkle better in the picture below.

You still have a few days left to join the Just For Fun challenge for this month. We would love to see your creations and you might even win a gift certificate to the store!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Remember every day is a gift and I hope you will truly have a great day!

Bits and Bobs #12

Hello! I hope you are having a good day. If you have been keeping up with my bits and bobs card series you know that I am trying to use up a lot of old things in my craft stash this year. Here is another card I made from some old items. Several years ago I cut out some dies from various colors of card stock in order to inlay the dies in different card stock colors. I still had some left. On this card I used the Heartfelt Creations Raindrops On Roses die by Spellbinders.

I found this butterfly from Sparkle N Sprinkle, that was already stamped on card stock that I had glittered with fine clear glitter. I colored over the glitter using Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut it to place over the bow.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Lights, Candles, Action!

Hi and welcome to my blog! Being a guest designer for the House Mouse and Friends has been so much fun! I love the theme for this new challenge - Interactive Card. I enjoy making action cards so I made this a wiper card. I learned to make this type of card many years ago and while rummaging through my stash I ran across one. I decided to make some more since it had been a long time.

Here is the front of the card.

When you pull on both sides of the card at the same time this little guy pops up! This mousie acts like a car wiper. He goes down when you shut the card and slides up when you open the card.

As you can see I used a lot of fun, bright patterned paper. I stamped the Mice Wishes stamp, colored and cut out the image using a Spellbinders Labels 8 die. I colored using Spectrum Noir markers and colored pencils. Cord and enamel dots were used to finish the card. The cute little mouse at the top was fussy cut and added to a small acetate piece. I stamped the saying in red, punched it out with a circle punch and adhered it to his feet.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a very "mice" day!

Happy Father's Day

Hi and welcome to my blog. Father's Day is approaching so have you made your Father's Day cards yet? Check out all the neat Just For Fun stamps that you can use for your Father's Day cards! This stamp reminds me so much of my dad and his 1956 Chevy. This Just For Fun stamp is actually a 1957 Chevy but my dad had the 1956 model. He must have loved that car because he had it for 18 years! I remember when the horn went out on it and he had a new horn installed where you pushed a button on the side of the steering wheel column. I was so embarrassed because it sounded like someone blowing his nose! LOL! I also remember that there were a few holes in the floorboard too. The car was a mint green color with black and white textured seats.

So in honor of Dad, I colored this car mint green using colored pencils and Gamsol. I used a silver paint pen to color the "chrome" on the car. Textured paper was used for the background that reminds me of the car's interior. I used some metal tape and ran it through an embossing folder and adhered it to the card. I stamped and embossed the saying from the Sentiments 3 unmounted sheet, onto black card stock and cut out a banner. My dad has passed away, but I will always have fond memories of him and his Chevy!

Don't forget to join in this month's challenge. You might even win a gift certificate to the store!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Bits and Bobs #11

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am showing another bits and bobs card today. Many years ago in my local stamp club we made faux leather backgrounds using wet card stock, background stamps, inks and Modge Podge. I made quite a few large sheets and I still had some left! I stumbled upon these in an old file folder. I used a piece for the background of this card.

I found this vintage car image from Sparkle N Sprinkle in my image stash. I colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and a silver metallic pen and cut it out using the Spellbinders Small Circles die. The strip of paper across the card came from some old packaging. The gears and cord also came from my stash of embellishments. I am hoping to use up a lot of my old stuff this year!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day!
