Warm Thoughts

Hi! Today I want to show you a fun summer card I made. The theme for the challenge over at Just For Fun is Hot Hot Hot. I hope you join in and you might even win a gift certificate to the store. I made this card thinking about the sun since the total solar eclipse is coming on August 21st. In our area the eclipse can be seen 100% they say!

I started this card by patting three colors of Distress inks on my craft mat, spritzing water on the colors and swiping my card stock through them. When the card stock was dry I ran the piece through the Tim Holtz's sun rays embossing folder. Then I sponged a little more darker ink over the background. I stamped the sunglasses from the Beach Unmounted sheet in three different colors, fussy cut them and adhered them to the card along with a saying from the Sentiments 3 Unmounted sheet. I just had to use google eyes on the glasses to make a fun card!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great day! Stay cool!

Beautiful Day

Hi and welcome to my blog. I just love the Altenew flower stamps and I want to show you a card I made using the Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set. I am entering my card into the Altenew inspiration challenge. Here is the lovely inspiration picture.

I stamped the flower and leaves on heavy vellum and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I colored the images with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and then went over them using a clear Wink of Stella glitter pen. I stamped the saying on the Spellbinders Label 18 die and sponged the edges with Shabby Shutters Distress ink.Pearls, a bow and flower were added for embellishment.

Thanks so much for looking! I hope you have a beautiful day!

Memories In Time

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good day. I want to share a vintage card I made using the Memories In Time stamp from Just For Fun. This is such a beautiful feminine stamp. I colored it using colored pencils and Gamsol to give it a soft look.

I used my new Flowers Frame die by Precious Marieke  to cut out the image. The middle die was just the perfect size for the image! The fancy frame around it was cut from dark purple card stock. On the lighter purple background I stamped the Long Script background stamp over it three times. I tore the upper right corner and sponged brown ink on the card's edges. Flowers and a bow were added for embellishments.

You still have a few days to join in the Just For Fun Wedding Time challenge. We would love to see your wonderful creations!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Bits and Bobs #14

Hi! I hope you are having a good day. I have been rummaging through my stamping stash again and I came across a bagful of old baby wipes I kept where I had wiped off inks from stamps and projects. The background of this card is one of those baby wipes! I like the background because the baby wipe has some texture to it too.

I found this giraffe image in my stash as well. I used black embossing powder in the giraffe and then used the bleach technique to lighten the image. I cut it out using a Gina Marie Stitched Oval Die. I went around the stitching with a black marker. The punched ferns, cord and wooden butterflies are all old things from my stash. I remember buying a bag of wooden embellishments from a wood working store in the mountains many years ago.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope your day is wonderful!

Flowers Everywhere

Hi and welcome to my blog. I just love using the cute hedgehogs from Penny Black on my cards. Today I want to share a card I made with one of them.

I used a border punch on each end of the white card stock. I stamped the image and colored with Spectrum Noir markers. This piece was adhered to a dark pink card base. I braided 3 colors of ribbon to place at the bottom of the card. The bow and enamel dots were also added for embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Pretty Peony

Hi and welcome to my blog! I want to show you a card I made with this beautiful Peony stamp from Just For Fun stamps. I love flowers of all types, but it has been hard keeping my flowers alive outside in this summer heat! I have already had to replant two of my pots.

I love playing with my new Distress Oxide inks. I saw a different way to use them the other day and I had to try it on this flower. I stamped the flower on black card stock and heat embossed the flower using white embossing powder. I used the Oxide inks to paint the flower. I really like the look of the "paint." It shows up so well against the black background. Sequins, a bow and butterfly were added for embellishments.

We have a fun Wedding Time challenge going on this month at Just For Fun. We hope to see your wonderful creations. You might even win a gift certificate to the store. Also check out all the wonderful flower stamps here.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Bits and Bobs #13

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I am showing another bits and bobs card. I found a whole bunch of vellum sheets in my stash that had some pretty designs on them. I have not used these in ages! It was fun making a card with one of the patterned sheets of vellum. This is the sheet I chose to use.

I found the stamped birds in my stash and layered the vellum over top of them. I used an old but goody Stampin Up splatter stamp and stamped it randomly on the vellum using brown ink. I found these word stickers and added them to the card along with some old cord.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Happy Independence Day!

Hi and welcome to my blog. I hope you are having a good 4th. While we are celebrating let's not forget the reason why. I want to thank all of those who have fought and are fighting for our country's freedom. Many have given the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country free. It is my prayer that we will continue to fight for the cause of freedom that we all so much enjoy. God bless America!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a blessed day!
